4 Steps To Facing Challenges In Your Business

Challenge is inevitable; in fact it is often where the greatest growth can occur. But what if the challenge is immobilizing, what if it seems just too big and rather than strengthening, it is impacting negatively on you and your business?

First – Clearly Assess What the Situation Is

Take a breath and some time to assess where you are. Be true and mentally take a helicopter view of your current business and life situation. Answer the questions: Where exactly are the areas of challenge? What will success look like?

Second – Assess What Needs to Change For You to Face the Challenges

Once you’ve identified clearly what the challenges are, you need to decide who you need to be in order to address the challenges front on. Do you need to be more organised, have more time, be more direct. At this stage you don’t need to do anything but you need to very clearly understand the attitude and skills you are going to have to have in order to succeed within this situation.

Third – Decide: What Action Do You Need To Take

What do you need to do in order to get the results you want? You know who you need to be, now equip yourself with the skills, knowledge and expertise to be able to succeed. You may need to seek assistance from another person; an accountant, an adviser or an expert in your field. Research it and take advice.

Fourth – Take Action

Write out what real action you are going to take. Be real and stay accountable; stay accountable to yourself and if possible ask someone to help keep you accountable. Start out slowly if you need to, but make it measurable and achievable.

And once you get moving, recognise and reflect on the effort you’ve made, what you have achieved and the skills you have acquired in succeeding. Continue to increase momentum by simply repeating the processes that have already been successful.

Action is GOLD. All else is silver.
